2 Accused Of Beating Man With Wrench, Robbing Him

Police said the victim was involved in a domestic incident prior to the assault and robbery.

KINDERHOOK, NY — Two men were accused of beating a man with a wrench and then stealing his jewelry. The New York State Police said troopers responded to an address on Parker Hall Road in the town of Kinderhook Friday for a report of a domestic incident that turned physical.

An investigation found that Brandon L. Fielder, 31, of Ghent, and Kent J. Stadtlander, 30, of Stockport, had come to the home and assaulted the victim with a wrench and then stole his jewelry, police said.

The victim was involved in a domestic incident with someone who was not a part of the assault and robbery prior to Fielder and Stadtlander arriving.

Police said the victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to Albany Medical Center by Valatie Rescue.

Fielder and Stadtlander were charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, felonies.

No criminal charges were found to be appropriate for either of the people involved in the domestic dispute at this time, police said.

Fielder and Stadtlander were arraigned in the Town of Chatham Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail. They are scheduled to appear before the Kinderhook Court Aug. 25.
