2 Arrested For Trying Steal From Newburgh Bank Account
One of the men fled the scene when police arrived and was taken into custody across the river.

NEWBURGH, NY — Two Bronx men were arrested by Newburgh police after trying to steal money from someone else’s bank account, with one of them fleeing from authorities. Police said Jeremy Sanders, 29, and Andre Kelly, 43, tried to use a forged document Monday, Oct. 9 at a Route 9W Chase bank.
Because the account had been flagged, the bank called the police, recordonline.com said. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
After police arrived, Kelly was taken into custody, but Sanders got into a car and drove off, with police losing sight of him after he got on I-84.

Westchester County police spotted his vehicle on the Sprain Brook Parkway near the Eastview exit in Yonkers. An officer began following him without sirens and lights because he was awaiting backup.
Sanders eventually realized he was being followed, police said, and started going faster.

The car went off the road and crashed as it attempted to exit the parkway at Tuckahoe Road.
Sanders fled from the vehicle but was eventually located and taken into custody.
He was charged in connection with refusing to stop and fleeing from officers, police said.
Sanders was turned over to the Newburgh Police Department after processing.
