2 Killed, 5 Injured at Halloween Party Shooting

Random shots were fired after the lights were turned off.

NEWBURGH, NY — A Halloween party was the scene Sunday of a shooting that killed two women and injured five others.

A witness said that random shots were fired at the party after someone turned out the lights around 12:43 a.m., the Times Herald-Record said.

Newburgh residents Tabitha Cruz, 20, and Omani Free, 18, were killed.

The five others who were injured are expected to recover, the Daily Freeman said.

The shootings, which police are still investigating, took place at an apartment building at 119 Broadway.
