The victim, Daniel “DJ” Thomas, was lured out of his home on Prospect Street and then shot in the face on Oct. 24, 2019, officials said.

Investigators believe the suspects had made a previous attempt, which was foiled by the presence of police patrol in the area.

Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel Nneji said both Kingston police and the Major Crimes Division of the New York State Police worked together to solve the case for nearly seven years, with extensive resources dedicated to the investigation.

Thomas was 27-years-old when he was killed. According to his obituary, the father of two was a “caring, compassionate and loving soul,” who enjoyed music, basketball, and spending time with his loved ones.

Reese and Wilson are due back in court July 22.
