2 NYC Women Accused Of Stealing From Monroe Walmart

The women were charged with a felony, police said.

MONROE, NY — Two New York City women were accused of stealing merchandise from an Orange County Walmart.

The New York State Police said troopers were called to Walmart in Monroe for a report of thefts.

The store's loss prevention personnel identified two women in the parking who left the store without paying for numerous items, police said.

An investigation found that Erika Vargas, 38, of Manhattan, stole merchandise in the amount of $1,229.97 and Brooke Lee, 34, of the Bronx, stole $1,006.95 worth of merchandise, police said.

Both women were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

They were issued appearance tickets to return to the Town of Monroe Court Dec. 28.
