20-Year-Old Accused Of Raping Child Under 15

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A 20-year-old Dutchess County man was accused of having sex with someone under the age of 15. The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the Child Advocacy Center said Lonnie E. Pesano, 20, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree rape, a felony.

He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.

The sheriff's office said no further information about the victim or the circumstances, and there appears to be no threat to public safety.
