3 Arrested With Drugs After I-87 Police Pursuit
Police said the men pulled off the Thruway and parked at a local store to try to get away.

ULSTER, NY — Three men were arrested after a police pursuit on I-87 Thursday. State police said, around 1:45 a.m. Aug. 2, troopers tried to stop a vehicle on the Thruway in the Town of Ulster for a vehicle and traffic stop. The car was being driven by Aaron Rice, 26, of the Bronx.
He did not comply and evaded the traffic stop at a high rate of speed, police said.
After a short pursuit, Rice left the Thruway at the Kingston tolls and pulled into a local business to try to get away from police.

Rice and his two passengers — John Singleton, 27, of Albany, and Nigel G. Spencer, 29, of the Bronx — were taken into custody.
During a search of the vehicle and the men, troopers said they found about 51 grams of crack cocaine and 4 grams of marijuana.

All three men were taken to SP Kingston for processing.
Rice was charged with the following:
- Third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor
- Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, with intent to sell, a felony
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotic drug, a felony
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
- Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor
- Multiple vehicle and traffic violations
Spencer and Singleton were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The men are currently awaiting arraignment. No bail information and no return court date are available at this time.
Police said no injuries were reported.
