3-Car Crash Kills Red Hook Woman
Police said a car crossed into the opposite lane and struck two oncoming cars.
RED HOOK, NY — A Red Hook woman was killed in a three-car crash Sunday morning.
The New York State Police said the incident happened around 7:45 a.m. Sunday on Route 9G north of West Market Street/Route 199 in the town of Red Hook.
Police said the investigation fund that Dino J. Macaluso, 54, of Saugerties, was driving a 2005 General Motors Envoy north on Route 9G when he went into southbound lane and struck two vehicles, both of which were slowing for a red traffic signal at the Route 9G and West Market intersection.

Macaluso first struck a 2010 Toyota Prius head-on before colliding with a 2020 Hyundai Elantra that was behind the Prius.
The driver of the Prius, Sheryl Griffith, 75, of Red Hook, was pronounced dead by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner.

Macaluso was taken to Northern Dutchess Hospital by Northern Dutchess Paramedics with injuries that were not life threatening.
The driver of the Elantra was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital by the Tivoli Fire Department also with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
Tivoli Fire Department, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Red Hook Police Department, Red Hook Fire Department and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office were all on scene rendering aid.
The investigation remains ongoing.
