3-Time Convicted Felon Faces 23 Drug, Weapon Charges

Police executed a search warrant Monday at an apartment in the town of Liberty.

LIBERTY, NY — A three-time convicted felon was accused of having illegal drugs and illegal weapons, one of which was reported to be stolen.

The New York State Police said a search warrant was executed Monday at a Chestnut Street apartment in Liberty.

State Police Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team along with troopers from Troop F and Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Village of Liberty Police Department and the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office conducted the search and found the following, according to authorities:

  • 110 grams of crack-cocaine
  • 92 grams of cocaine
  • 379 grams of fentanyl
  • 492 grams of liquid PCP
  • 426 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 12 grams of suboxone strips
  • One INT .45 caliber revolver
  • One JMZ semi-auto 9mm handgun
  • One loaded Beretta semi-auto .25 caliber handgun (stolen)

Also seized were a Second Chance bulletproof vest, a digital scale and more than $6,000 in United States currency, police said.

According to law enforcement, Malcolm Ford, 57, of Liberty was arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies
  • First-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
  • Nine counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies
  • Five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies
  • Three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor
  • Criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor

Police said Ford is a three-time convicted felon and was remanded to the custody of the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
