32-Year-Old Killed In Motorcycle Crash With Subaru On NY Rte. 299

State police said it appears that a Subaru crossed over the double yellow line and struck the motocycle headed in the opposite direction.

GARDINER, NY — A Hudson Valley man died after his motorcycle was struck by a car traveling in the opposite direction, police said today.

On Thursday, shortly after 7 p.m., troopers from the Highland barracks responded to a crash in which a car hit a motorcycle on Rte 299 in Gardiner.

Investigators said it appears that a 2012 Subaru was traveling west on SR-299 when it crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle traveling east.

The motorcycle rider, Daniel Curtin, age 32, from Wappingers Falls, was gravely injured, and succumbed to his injuries, despite the efforts of the troopers and EMS on the scene, according to New York State Police offcials, who added that the investigation is still ongoing.
