3rd-Prize Powerball Ticket Yields $100,000 In Hudson Valley
The lucky ticket buyer paid $1 extra to double his or her winnings for the Powerball game. Wednesday's jackpot is now $575 million.

HIGHLAND FALLS, NY — A third-prize winning Powerplay ticket was purchased in the Hudson Valley for the Jan. 3 Powerball drawing.
New York Lottery officials said the Powerplay ticket was worth $100,000 and was sold at the Main Street Grocery in Highland Falls in Orange County.
For an extra $1 players may add Powerplay, which multiplies a prize — except for the jackpot — by up to 10 times. The Powerplay multiplier for Monday's drawing was 2.

There was a second third-prize winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 which was purchased at Aakar Convenience in Sunnyside, lottery officials said.
No one won the jackpot for Monday's drawing. According to lottery officials, the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is $575 million.

The winning numbers for the Jan. 3 Powerball drawing were 2-13-32-33-48, with the Powerball of 22. Third-prize tickets had to match four numbers plus the Powerball.
Winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26.
The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m.
