78-Year-Old Woman Stabbed To Death In Her Home Is ID'd By Police
Police say that the victim's 50-year-old daughter was identified as a person of interest, and later charged with murder.

CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Dutchess County woman is dead after being stabbed to death in her own home, according to police.
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Detective Division says that on Monday, around 1:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on Oak Crescent St.
Once on the scene, police found a 78-year-old woman, identified as Olga Hinds-Coley, with a stab wound to her chest.

She was rushed to the hospital, but ultimately died from her injuries.
Police say that the victim's daughter, 50-year-old Denise Gilpin, was identified as a person of interest.

Detectives and crime scene technicians worked into the early morning hours of Tuesday, collecting evidence and conducting interviews, according to police.
As a result, Gilpin was arrested and charged with felony second-degree murder. She was arraigned in City Court and remanded without bail.
Police say the investigation is active and ongoing, but there is no known threat to the public.
