8 SUNY New Paltz Swimmers Contract Mumps

NEW PALTZ, NY — Eight SUNY New Paltz intercollegiate swimming program members have contracted the mumps.

University officials said workouts and swim practice session have been suspended out of caution in order to see if anyone else comes down with the disease, according to an Associated Press article posted at the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Students who are ill have been isolated, AP said.
