After Halloween, This Spirit Store Will Morph Into Spirit Christmas

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Looks like that Spirit store where you bought the perfect Halloween costume will be sticking around a little longer.

Spirit Halloween, the NJ-based company known for its stores that have been popping up every fall for over four decades, announced that it will soon be converting ten of its short-lease stores in the Northeast into Christmas stores. And one of them is the Poughkeepsie location at 2020 South Road, at Chestnut Plaza.

The opening date will be between mid-November and the holidays.

"Spirit Christmas is a new concept for us, and we're hopeful it will resonate with our customers," a Spirit Halloween spokesperson told Patch. "Our goal is to create a festive retail experience that captures the spirit of the season, much like we do for Halloween."

The company said that guests will be able to meet Santa, wander through a life-sized gingerbread village, mail letters to Santa at the North Pole and even find out whether they’ve been naughty or nice.

Visits with Santa at the Poughkeepsie Spirit Christmas start on Nov. 29 and can be booked here.

According to the company's website, Spirit Christmas stores will have "thousands of stocking stuffers, holiday apparel, fun gifts, unique décor, plus all the special trimmings for creating an unforgettable Christmas."
