After Planned Meetup In A Gas Station, 27-Year-Old Man Charged With Attempted Rape Of A Minor: NYSP
He arranged to meet with a person he thought was a minor in a Middletown gas station, according to state police.
MIDDLETOWN, NY — A man who police say traveled to Orange County to abuse a minor has been arrested.
The New York State Police say that on Thursday, in collaboration with the Community Stabilization Unit and the Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, they arrested 27-year-old Gregory D. Graff, of Hyde Park, for attempting to engage in sexual misconduct with a minor.
Graff was charged with felony second-degree attempted rape; felony first-degree attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors; and misdemeanor attempted endangering the welfare of a child.

State police say that the investigation started on Wednesday, after Graff communicated with a person who he believed was a minor, and tried to arrange a meeting to engage in inappropriate sexual conduct.
On Thursday, cops say, Graff traveled to a gas station in Middletown, with the intention of meeting the minor. He was instead arrested in the Town of Wallkill without incident, and taken to Middletown for processing.

Graff was arraigned in the Village of Florida Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail. Bail was set, and he was due back in the Village of Florida Court on Monday.
