Alzheimer's Association to offer program series in Nanuet
The Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter will offer a series of educational programs this fall at Meals on Wheels in Nanuet.

The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter will offer a series of educational programs this fall at Meals on Wheels at 121 W. Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954. All programs will be held on Fridays and include a free lunch. With questions or to RSVP, call 800.272.3900.
The “Virtual Dementia Tour,” a simulation of what it is like to have Alzheimer’s disease, will be offered in 30-minute appointments between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 15. Call 845.639-6776 to schedule an appointment.
“Living with Alzheimer’s: For Middle-Stage Caregivers” will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 20. This three-part program will offer insights on how to provide safe, effective and comfortable care in the middle stage of Alzheimer’s.

“Living with Alzheimer’s: For Late-Stage Caregivers” will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 10. In the late stage of Alzheimer’s, caregiving often involves new ways of interacting with someone who has the disease. This two-part program explores resources, monitoring care and providing meaningful connections for someone in the late stage of Alzheimer’s.
“Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior” and “Caring Through the Holidays” will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 8. This program will offer coping strategies for some common dementia-related behaviors and provide advice on how to handle the challenges of caregiving through the holidays. A Q&A session will follow the programs.
