Alzheimer's Association offers programs in Dutchess County

Information on times and locations of three of our educational programs including The basics, 10 signs, and dementia conversations.

The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter will offer several programs for people with dementia and their caregivers in the weeks ahead.

The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease” will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the LaGrange Library, 488 Freedom Plains Road, Poughkeepsie. This free educational program will provide information on detection, risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and more. For more information or to RSVP, call800.272.3900.

Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters” will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the LaGrange Library, 488 Freedom Plains Road, Poughkeepsie. This free educational program emphasizes how to recognize the 10 signs of Alzheimer’s and why early detection is important. Call 800.272.3900 for more information or to RSVP.

Dementia Conversations” will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the LaGrange Library, 488 Freedom Plains Road, Poughkeepsie. This program provides helpful tips to assist families with difficult conversations related to dementia, including going to the doctor, deciding when to stop driving and making legal and financial plans. This program is primarily for those who have a family member or close friend beginning to experience Alzheimer’s or another dementia. For more information or to RSVP, call 800.272.3900.
