Amenia Man Had Psychedelic Mushrooms, Dagger: Police

DOVER, NY — A 19-year-old Amenia man was arrested Thursday on drug and weapon charges.

State Police said Michael J. Azzarito was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

After Troopers stopped Azzarito on Old Route 22 for speeding, an investigation found he was in possession of psychedelic mushrooms and a dagger.

He was arraigned in the Town of Dover Justice Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
