TOWN OF RED HOOK, NY — Police say a domestic violence investigation has led to charges against a Dutchess County man.
The New York State Police say that the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Rhinebeck was notified on April 1, of a past physical domestic incident at a private home in the town of Red Hook.
An investigation found that 35-year-old Zackariah J. Jackson, of Hudson, had been in a physical domestic dispute with a juvenile, according to police.
During the domestic incident, the juvenile received a laceration to the lip, investigators said. After the dispute escalated and ended up on the ground, Jackson is accused of applying pressure to the juvenile's neck with his forearms, obstructing their breathing.
On April 7, Jackson was arrested and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal obstruction of breathing.
He was arraigned in the Town of Red Hook Court and released on his own recognizance. Jackson is scheduled to return to court on April 23.
