HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The FBI thinks there may be more victims related to sex abuse allegations against a former middle school teacher.

The FBI's New York Division Hudson Valley Resident Agency is asking for the public's help in identifying potential victims of child sexual exploitation, production of child sexual abuse material, and attempted production or receipt and distribution of child sexual abuse material carried out by 26-year-old Daniel Monarchi, of Red Hook.

Monarchi was arrested in August of last year, and charged with sexual exploitation of a child, by the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York.

The FBI believes Monarchi mainly targeted teenage girls through different online chat platforms, such as "ChatIB," before moving the conversations to Discord and Snapchat.

According to a criminal complaint previously filed, Monarchi would seek out girls online to entice and coerce them to engage in sexually explicit conduct, including producing and distributing child sexual abuse material. Authorities believe that Monarchi engaged in this criminal behavior before September 2024 until his arrest in August 2025.

Monarchi was also employed as a special education/social studies middle school teacher in Dutchess County.

The FBI is looking for potential victims of Monarchi or witnesses to his criminal behavior. Victims may have been contacted on the following platforms through several social media accounts:

If you or your minor dependent were victimized by Monarchi, or have information relevant to the investigation, the FBI asks you to fill out this short form. If you know of someone else who has possibly been victimized by Monarchi, you can encourage them to complete the form themselves, the DOJ added.
