ORANGE COUNTY, NY — Officials have identified the Orange County man killed in a motorcycle collision.
The 73-year-old Chester man died after a three-vehicle crash in Hamptonburgh on Monday, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded at about 1:40 p.m. to the collision involving two SUVs and one motorcycle, at County Route 51 and County Route 8, also known as Sarah Wells Trail, in the Town of Hamptonburgh. The crash resulted in a single death, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling north on County Route 51, when it entered the intersection at County Route 8 and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The motorcycle rider was identified as Kevin Crawford, of Chester. The sheriff's office said Crawford was the only one on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
Members of the sheriff's office performed life-saving measures at the scene before emergency medical services arrived, according to authorities. Crawford was then rushed to Garnet Health Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office did not release any information about injuries to anyone in the other vehicles. No charges or summonses were announced in the information provided.
