NEWBURGH, NY — One lucky player in the area might have a few hundred thousand dollars in their pocket right now, according to New York Lottery officials.
A third-prize winning Powerball Power Play ticket worth $100,000 was sold in Newburgh for the July 15 Powerball drawing, according to the New York Lottery. The ticket was sold at Smokes 4 Less, on North Plank Rd. in Newburgh.
The New York Lottery announced that one third-prize winning Power Play ticket was sold for the drawing.
Powerball winning numbers are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Power Ball is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. The lottery said the Power Play option, when purchased, gives players a chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes by as much as 10 times.
The store first became famous in 2023.
It sold two $1 million tickets in November 2022, two seven-figure lottery tickets in January 2023 and a $2 million winning Powerball ticket in October 2023, ABC7 reported. Then, in one week in March 2024, the smoke shop sold two million-dollar winning tickets, ABC reported.
