Victim Pistol-Whipped With A Purple Semi-Automatic, Poughkeepsie Woman Arrested: Police

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A unique weapon was used in a weekend assault in Dutchess County, according to police.

On Saturday, at 10:52 a.m., 911 received a call reporting a menacing incident involving a handgun in the area of Hooker Avenue and Montgomery Street. At the scene, officers spoke to a victim who told them he had been struck in the head with a handgun.

Officers questioned 33-year-old Zenobia Ward near the scene, and recovered a loaded SCCY semi-automatic handgun nearby, according to City of Poughkeepsie police.

Ward was identified by investigators as the suspect in the assault and taken into custody.

She was charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
