DEERPARK, NY — Authorities have identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash in Orange County.
The New York State Police say that on Wednesday, around 9:25 a.m., troopers out of the Greenville barracks in Orange County, responded to a crash on Peenpack Trail, in the town of Deerpark.
Investigators say a 2007 Ford was traveling east on Peenpack Trail when the driver, now identified as 69-year-old Robert S. Jahn, of Sparrowbush, veered to the right off the roadway, sideswiped several trees, and entered a driveway on Peenpack Trail.
The Ford then sideswiped an unoccupied 2023 Chevrolet and a trailer before coming to a rest on an embankment.
Jahn was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Garnet Health in Middletown, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is being asked to contact the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Greenville at 845-344-5300.
