CORNWALL, NY — A Brooklyn man is facing a DWI charge this week after he was arrested Friday night in Cornwall and registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of more than three times the legal limit, police said.
New York State Police said 45-year-old Brooklynite Precious G. Adediran was arrested Friday night at about 11:15 p.m. as he drove along I-87 in the town of Cornwall. According to police, Adediran's 2025 Kia Sportage was moving "erratically" and in violation of traffic laws, which prompted police to pull the car over at which point they "observed signs of impairment" in the driver of the Sportage, Adediran.
After failing a field sobriety test, Adediran was arrested and taken to State Police facilities in Newburgh where his BAC came in at .26, police said. Adediran is now charged with aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18 percent or more, DWI and traffic violations, police said. He was released into the care of a sober third party and is due in Cornwall Town Court Sept. 2, police said.
