NEW CITY, NY —A Hudson Valley dental group will again offer free dental care for veterans ahead of Veterans Day.
Appointments can be set for Sunday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dental365 said veterans can receive complimentary cleanings, x-rays and comprehensive examinations at participating offices across the Northeast, including Rockland County.
The company listed six participating offices for this year's Free Day of Dentistry for Veterans: Forest Hills and Mt. Sinai in New York, New City in Rockland County, North Grafton in Massachusetts, Oregon in Ohio and Lebanon in Pennsylvania. According to the announcement, the event is expected to serve dozens of veterans at each office.
"America would not be what it is today without our Veterans and their service to our nation," said Dr. Scott Asnis, founder and CEO of Dental365. "We are proud to help them maintain their oral health as a small token of our gratitude."
According to the dental group, the program began after a longtime team member shared that her father, a veteran, had struggled for years to access affordable dental care. The company said that conversation helped launch what became an annual event.
"Dr. Asnis saw potential in the idea and encouraged us to explore what giving back could look like," said Jessica Colón, Chief of Staff, who helped launch the initiative. "When we realized we could use our offices, staff, and partnerships to serve veterans directly, everything clicked. We opened our doors one Sunday—and people lined up outside before we even started. That's when we knew we could make a real difference."
Dental365 said the program has since expanded across multiple states with support from vendors including Henry Schein and other dental suppliers. Veterans have come in for services ranging from cleanings and x-rays to extractions and deep cleanings, often after years without a dental visit.
Dental365 is headquartered in New Hyde Park and operates locations across New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Virginia. The company said this year's veterans event will run for five hours on Nov. 8 at the participating offices.
Dental365 said the services will be provided through volunteer efforts from its dentists, specialists, hygienists, assistants and support staff. Veterans can find the nearest participating location and more details about the event at GoDental365.com/VeteransDay.
