Fall is officially here in Mid Hudson Valley, and there's no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what's happening close to home.
Here are some events and activities happening in and around Mid Hudson Valley this October.

Where: South Street Parking Lot, Bank and South streets, Warwick
Stock up on the flavors of fall at the Warwick Valley Farmers Market, which brings more than 30 regional farms and farm kitchens to the Village of Warwick each Sunday. Shoppers can find fresh produce, meats, eggs, cheeses and artisanal breads alongside baked goods, honey, maple products, flowers, prepared foods, wine, hard cider and other locally produced goods.
When: Through Nov. 1, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on operating days; closed Wednesdays
Where: Kelder's Farm, 5755 U.S. Rte 209, Kerhonkson
Make a day of classic autumn activities at the Hudson Valley Fall Festival at Kelder's Farm. Visitors can head into the pumpkin patch, tackle a corn maze and explore more than 35 farm attractions, with scenic hayrides offered on weekends. Food and drink are also available around the farm, including a taproom serving local beer, wine and hard cider.

Where: Historic Van Cortlandt Manor, 525 S. Riverside Ave, Croton-on-Hudson
Thousands of hand-carved pumpkins light up the night during The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze, one of the Hudson Valley's signature Halloween traditions. The walk-through experience at historic Van Cortlandt Manor features more than 7,000 illuminated jack o'lanterns arranged in elaborate themed displays, accompanied by special effects and an original soundtrack. New experiences for 2026 include an expanded pumpkin trail, along with optional stops at the Gourd & Goblet Tavern and Headless Horseman's Hideaway. Advance timed-entry tickets are required.

Where: Thunderbird Farms, 13 Van Sickle Rd, Goshen
Choose your preferred level of spooky at Thunderbird Farms, where October brings both family-friendly Halloween activities and after-dark scares. Younger visitors can explore the Boo Barn and trails during select "Kids No Scare" hours, while thrill-seekers can return for the Haunted Boo Barn and Haunted Trails featuring live scare actors and jump scares.
The farm will also host its Monster Munch Halloween Festival on Oct. 31, with food trucks, vendors, a kids costume parade, games, live music and a special actor-free Boo Barn Twilight Experience after dark.

Where: Philipsburg Manor, 381 N. Broadway, Sleepy Hollow
Step into the world of Washington Irving's legendary tale during Twilight Village at Sleepy Hollow. This all-ages outdoor experience at Philipsburg Manor features live storytellers, fire performers, a roving brass band, a pop-up market and appearances by familiar characters including Ichabod Crane and Katrina Van Tassel. The evening culminates with the Headless Horseman making a dramatic appearance in a sound-and-light recreation of his famous midnight ride.
