Cyclist Arrested After Exposing Himself To Woman In Municipal Parking Lot

Three women, including a SUNY New Paltz student, told police that the man had been following them and attempting to expose himself to them.

PLATTEKILL, NY — A bicycle rider's disturbing behavior led to the arrest of the Ulster County man.

The New Paltz Police Department reported the arrest of Stephen J. Oherron, age 48 of Gardiner.

On September 26, police received a report that a man on a bicycle had exposed himself to a woman in the Plattekill Municipal Lot. Responding officers met with the victim, a SUNY New Paltz student, who provided a description of the suspect.

Officers conducting foot patrol located and detained the suspect after two other women independently pointed him out and reported that he had been following them and attempting to expose himself to them, according to police. That suspect was identified Oherron.

The victim positively identified Oherron, who was then taken into custody, cops said. He was charged with public lewdness, a class B misdemeanor.
