Orange County voters will be able to cast ballots in person before Election Day during the 2026 General Election early voting period, which runs from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1, according to information from the Orange County Board of Elections. All registered voters can vote early, and voters registered in Orange County may use any early voting site in the county.
If a voter uses the early voting period, that voter is not eligible to vote on Election Day. The same restriction applies to absentee voting.

The voting process during early voting is the same as the process used on Election Day. When voters arrive at an early voting center, they check in to vote, receive a ballot and cast that ballot using the voting machine.
The county also says instructions will be available at early voting centers to help voters understand the process. Voters may ask an election inspector to explain how to vote or request assistance at the site.
Early voting results will not be posted during the voting period. According to the county, early voting ballots will be canvassed and reported after 9 p.m. on Election Day.
Voters looking for more information can contact the Orange County Board of Elections at 845-360-6500. The county also lists the New York State Board of Elections as a resource at 518-474-1953 and www.elections.ny.gov.
