Bridge Work Closes Rte 55 in Union Vale for 3+ Months

As of Thursday, Route 55 is closed in Union Vale between the intersections of Wisseman Road and Cunningham Drive, while crews perform construction activities to replace the bridge carrying Route 55 over the Jackson Creek.

Traffic will be directed to follow the posted detour signs on Route 82 and County Route 21 (East Noxon Road). This closure and detour is expected to remain in place until Aug. 15 or so.

Follow the posted detour -- and expect delays.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.

Remember that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
