Bronx Man Accused Of Drug Possession In Poughkeepsie
Police said the man attempted to flee on foot and destroy the evidence.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Bronx man was accused of felony drug possession after a traffic stop in the town of Poughkeepsie.
The New York State Police said Wednesday that Carlos F. Mota, 30, of the Bronx, was arrested for the following:
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
- Tampering with physical evidence, a felony
- Criminal use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor
- Resisting arrest, a misdemeanor
Around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Honda Civic on Page Park Drive in the town of Poughkeepsie for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

An investigation found Mota was in possession of about 41.8 grams of cocaine, according to authorities.
Police said he resisted arrest and tried to flee on foot as well as trying to destroy the drug evidence.

After a brief struggle, Mota was taken into custody.
He was arraigned in the Town of Milan Court and released to the supervision of probation.
Mota is next scheduled to appear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court.
