Bronx Man Arrested With Half Pound Of Pot

He had been initially stopped for an equipment violation.

WOODBURY, NY — A Bronx man was arrested in Orange County for marijuana possession. State Police said Edgar Manon, 39, of the Bronx, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and vehicle and traffic violations.

Police said they stopped a vehicle driven by Manon around 10:09 p.m. March 11 on I-87 in the Town of Woodbury for an equipment violation.

Troopers said they found probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.

They said Manon was in possession of more than a half pound of marijuana.

He was taken into custody and processed at the Newburgh barracks.

Manon was arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.

Police said no return court was available at this time.
