Bronx Man Drowns In Hudson Valley River
A search and rescue team found the man underwater, authorities said.
DEERPARK, NY — A Bronx resident drowned Wednesday at a beach on the Delaware River in Orange County.
The New York State Police said, around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to Hook Road Beach in the town of Deerpark for a possible drowning on the Delaware River.
Troopers were assisted at Hook Road Beach (Fireman's Beach) by the Town of Deerpark Police and Sparrowbush Fire departments and Batallion 8 Search and Rescue Team.

The team located Wandel Hernandez, 20, from Bronx. He was underwater, according to authorities.
Hernandez was taken to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis where he was pronounced dead.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.
