Bronx Pair Arrested On Drug, Weapon Charges
The state police initially stopped their car for a traffic violation.

WOODBURY, NY — Two men were arrested after a traffic stop on I-87 in the Town of Woodbury. State police said, at 8:33 p.m. Oct. 27, Samer A. Al-Ruhimi, 32, and Mousa A. Naji, 31, both from the Bronx, were charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Al-Ruhaimi was also charged with vehicle and traffic violations.
Police said Al-Ruhaimi, who was driving, was stopped on the thruway.

During an interview, it was established that there was probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.
Troopers said about 619.4 grams of Khat and a set of brass knuckles were located.

The men were taken into custody and processed at the Newburgh barracks.
Al-Ruhaimi and Naji were arraigned in the Town of Monroe Court and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $5,000 bond.
A return court date for both men was set for Nov. 2.
