Bronx Woman Hides Cocaine In Child's Diaper Bag: Police
The woman was initially pulled over for a traffic violation, police said.

COXSACKIE, NY — A Bronx woman was accused of having more than a pound and a half of cocaine in her baby's diaper bag during a traffic stop.
The New York State Police said a trooper stopped a 2008 Dodge Charger on Interstate 87 in the town of Coxsackie, Greene County, for a vehicle and traffic violation just before noon Tuesday.
Police said the driver of the car, Shante Pleasant, 33, of Bronx, did not have a valid driver's license.

Before the car was towed, an inventory of its contents was made, police said.
Troopers said they found about 718.5 grams — or 25.3 ounces — of cocaine concealed inside Pleasant's baby's diaper bag.

Her 13-year-old and 7-month-old daughters were in the car, police said.
Pleasant was taken into custody and processed at the Albany barracks where she was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
She and her daughters were taken to the Town of Coxsackie Court where the children were turned over to a relative.
Pleasant was arraigned and sent to the Greene County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing set for Thursday.
