Please join us for Cancer Survivorship Day on Wednesday, June 10 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
This event will celebrate cancer survivors and their families while offering support and inspiration to those currently diagnosed. The day will feature guest speakers, music, refreshments, arts and crafts displays, and informational tables.

Mount Saint Mary College

Mount Saint Mary College invites prospective students to a virtual transfer and adult degree completion information session on Wednesday, June 3, to learn how they can elevate their careers and finish their degrees.
The session will begin at noon and will be held via Zoom. Those interested can register at <a href="https://www.msmc.edu/events/virtual-transfer-and-adult-degree-completion-information-session/2026-06-03/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">www.msmc.edu/TransferInfo</a>. 
Whether a student is looking to transfer from another institution or return to the classroom after years away, the session will provide a comprehensive look at the Mount’s flexible pathways to a bachelor’s degree. Participants will explore academic resources, student support services, and the admissions process. 
Mount Saint Mary College offers two distinct paths for degree completion:
<ul>
 <li>The Transfer Program: Designed for students seeking a traditional on-campus experience, this program offers more than 45 majors. Transfer students are eligible for up to $19,000 in scholarships annually. </li>
 <li>The Adult Degree Program: Tailored for degree-seeking students aged 18 and older, this program features seven in-demand majors – including Accounting, Business, Nursing, and Psychology – offered at a discounted tuition rate with online, hybrid, and evening options.</li>
</ul>
During the session, admissions counselors will answer common questions regarding credit evaluations – noting that the Mount accepts up to 90 transfer credits – and provide guidance on financial aid.

Virtual Transfer and Adult Degree Completion Information Session

Emily Nomer finds aesthetic company in the Pattern &amp; Decoration artists of the 1970’s, amongst others. Most of the works are painted in acrylic, and geometry, repetition, and pattern are the basis of most compositions. Balance and proportion remain her guiding principles.
Malcolm Gladwell’s thesis from Outliers hypothesizes that it takes around 10,000 hours to achieve competence. In the case of Hudson Valley artist Emily Nomer, “it has taken me a long time to become competent at my artistic voice.” Emily describes her upcoming exhibition at Vassar’s Palmer Gallery as “an inward-looking pursuit…An Introspective”.

Nothing says spring better than our popular Classic Design Luncheon and Lecture! We’re honored to feature Genevieve Wheeler-Brown, the author of&nbsp;<a href="https://beyondblueandwhite.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">“Beyond Blue and White.”</a>
Wheeler-Brown’s book explores the history of Delftware ceramics, focusing on the often-overlooked roles of women as makers, patrons, and collectors, from 17th-century factory owners like&nbsp;Barbara Rotteveel&nbsp;to Gilded Age collectors like&nbsp;Mrs. J. Pierpont Morgan. A must for devotees of decorative arts and the history of material culture. 
Location: The award-winning Jay Estate Gardens designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz. Co-Chairs, Tracy Edwards, Liz Garrett, Emmy Lambert, Lindsay Bello Martin and Suzanne Clary.
Guests will enjoy botanical cocktails and a tour of the blue and white blooms of our gardens at 11:30am followed by lunch and lecture at 12 Noon. Booksigning at 1:30pm. Catering provided by Scarborough Fair Catering.
Spring garden attire and hats encouraged!

GENEVIEVE WHEELER BROWN
Founding Genevieve Wheeler Decorative Art Advisory in 2003, Genevieve comes to the advisory business with more than 12 years of experience in the auction world, strong generalist knowledge and a wide range of contacts in American, European and Asian decorative and fine arts.
Genevieve began her career with Christie’s in 1992 with the European Decorative Arts Department after working as an intern at The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C. in 1990. She was then asked to run Overseas Consignments at Christie’s Park Avenue, a department that handled inquiries for European based auctions including Indian and Southeast Asian art, Islamic Art, Miniatures, Textiles and Cameras. In 1995 Genevieve became the New York contact for sales of Fabergé and Russian Silver at Christie’s Park Avenue and most recently was as a specialist in Fine Musical Instruments at Christie’s Rockefeller Center from 1998 to 2003.
While at Christie’s, she was involved with important sales such as ‘The Pine Cone Egg’ by Carl Fabergé and ‘The Taft’ Stradivari which fetched the auction record for an instrument sold in the United States. She has also been an appraiser on the PBS production ‘The Antiques Roadshow’.
A supporter of several fine and decorative art related institutions, Genevieve has served on the Board of the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, served as a member of the Young Fellows Steering Committee of the Frick Collection from 1995 to 2005 and co-Chaired the Winter Antiques Show Young Collector’s Night, New York in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Genevieve currently advises several organizations including <a href="https://www.dumbartonhouse.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Dumbarton House</a>, a Federal period house museum in Georgetown, as a board member as well as for <a href="https://www.thewintershow.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Winter Show</a> as a vice-chair of Opening Night and as co-founder of The Winter Show Luncheon.About The Jay Heritage Center
