Calling Hours Set For Fishkill's Brendan Johnson
The gunnery sergeant was one of 16 military personnel killed in a plane crash in Mississippi

FISHKILL, NY — Services have been set for one of the Marines killed in an aircraft accident in Mississippi. Calling hours for Gunnery Sgt. Brendan Colin Johnson, 45, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 27 at the McHoul Funeral Home, 1089 Main Street, in Fishkill. Calling hours will be open to the public.
His family will celebrate his life during a private memorial service.
Johnson was one of 16 military personnel killed in the crash July 10 of a KC-130T that originated from Marine Corp Air Station at Cherry Point, NC. The plane, which was used for refueling, spiraled and crashed into a soybean field in Itta Bena, MS.

According to his obituary, Johnson was born in Burlington, VT. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1994 and had a distinguished 23-year-long career.

Johnson was a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism.
He received numerous honors and recognitions.
Johnson enjoyed many hobbies such as art, travel and food and was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.
He is survived by his wife Anna Johnson, who lives in Fishkill, his parents, a brother, in-laws as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and godchildren.
Following calling hours, Main Street will be closed for an honor guard ceremony with full military honors. It will be held in front of the funeral home, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
