Student Suicide Reported at Upstate University: UPDATE

School officials said that the death is being investigated by the university and the police.

DELHI, NY — SUNY Delhi police said they received a report Monday around 10:50 a.m. about a possible suicide on campus. Police said the cause of death is under investigation, pending the results of an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday.

An afternoon information session on campus said there is no threat to the campus community, WBNG.com said.

The student has not been named, but the family has been notified, pressconnects.com said.

Students were encouraged to seek counseling in the Health and Counseling Services in Foreman Hall on the campus if needed.

DELHI, NY — Officials at SUNY Delhi are reporting that the death of student on campus is being investigated by the university and the state police.

A tweet posted by the school said, "We ask for cooperation and will keep you informed."

A spokesperson for the school told WBNG news that more information will be released once the family members of the student are notified.

The school said via Twitter that law enforcement immediately determined there was no imminent threat and that classes are continuing as scheduled.

SUNY Delhi is located in Delhi, Delaware County.
