3 Die When Car Crashes In Stanford: UPDATE
The car hit a tree and caught fire, which spread to a nearby house.

STANFORD, NY — State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on June 4, on State Route 82 in the Town of Stanford around 10:44 p.m. Police said the initial investigation suggests the operator of a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer left the roadway and struck a tree.
After striking the tree, the vehicle caught fire, which spread to a nearby house. The fire was extinguished by Stanfordville Fire Department.
The two front-seat occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene.

A third occupant was airlifted to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he later died.
The names are being withheld at this time pending notification to family members.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the State Police in Poughkeepsie by calling (845) 677-7379.
The homeowner Sue Treacy, was in bed at the time and called 911 after she saw the car in flames up against the porch, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. She was not injured.

STANFORD, NY — A car carrying three people crashed into a car Monday night in Stanford. All three were killed, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
The accident happened around 10:45 p.m. at Route 82 and Bulls Head Road.
