Carefully: How NY Conservation Officers Extract Bear From Car VIDEO
Don't blink or you'll miss the bear.
ULSTER COUNTY, NY — How do you get a bear out of a car?
New York State Environmental Conservation Officers came up with an effective, low-tech method Sept. 23 after getting a 911 call about a bear that broke into a Honda CRV in the town of Hurley.
ECOs Adam Johnson and Jonathan Walraven responded to the call. New York State Police shut down Route 28 for them, while they positioned their patrol cars at the back end of the unfortunate hatchback with the bear inside, hoping to funnel the escaping bear in a safe direction.
