Catskill Man Faces Felony Drug Possession Charges
Police said a search warrant was executed on a residence in the village.
CATSKILL, NY — A Catskill man was accused Thursday of drug possession after a search was executed in a home in the village. State police charge Ashawn C. Abbott, 44, of Catskill, with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug parapheralia, misdemeanors.
Due to a Troop K Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team investigation, a search warrant for a Catskill residence was obtained from the Columbia County Court.
The search warrant was executed Thursday. About 27.2 grams of cocaine were seized, police said.

Abbott was arraigned virtually before the Columbia County Court and sent to the Albany County Jail.
