Central Hudson Down To 23,000 Customers Waiting For Power
The majority of the outages are in Orange County and southern Dutchess County, the company said.
MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — As of 6 p.m. Thursday, there are 23,326 customers of Central Hudson waiting for power to be restored. There are 886 active outages, according to the Central Hudson website.
The affected customers by county, followed by estimated restoration time, are:
- Dutchess: 10,968; 11:30 p.m. Friday
- Orange: 10,126; noon Saturday
- Putnam: 1,070; 8 p.m. Friday
- Ulster: 857; 8 p.m. Thursday
- Columbia: 182; 8 p.m. Friday

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The effects of Tropical Storm Isaias are still being felt Thursday in the mid-Hudson Valley. According to a Facebook post by Central Hudson, more than 37,000 electricity customers in its service area are waiting for power to be restored.
The company said it anticipates 90 percent of homes and businesses will have power turned back on by 11:30 p.m. Friday.

The service area includes Albany, Greene and Sullivan counties, though there are no widespread outages there.
Central Hudson said the majority of the outages are in Orange County and southern Dutchess County.
"We have a force of more than 600 electric line and tree personnel, with more than 100 additional mutual aid workers expected to arrive today to continue to address the nearly 1,200 damage locations," a spokesperson for the company said.
"Central Hudson crews have been addressing more than 1,600 reports of wires down and repairing 91 broken utility poles," the statement said.
As of 10:45 a.m., the number of affected customers by county are:
Columbia: 276
Dutchess: 15,430
Orange: 15,136
Putnam: 2,202
Ulster 3,184
The website said that Putnam should be restored by 10 p.m Thursday; Columbia and the majority of Dutchess, by 8 p.m. Friday.
Orange County's restoration time is still pending, as is Ulster's.
