College Student Talked Down From Tower

State police were assisted by multiple agencies.

TIVOLI, NY — A Bard College student was saved from a crisis situation over the weekend by the State Police. Troopers said they were dispatched to the Village of Tivoli Sunday around 4:45 p.m. for someone who was possibly suicidal.

Police responded to the water tower and were able to successfully convince the person to come down from the structure.

After being safely taken into custody, the student was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital by Northern Dutchess Paramedics.

The state police were assisted by the Tivoli Fire Department, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Arlington Rope Rescue team, City of Poughkeepsie Rescue 1 and Lagrange Fire Department.
