Columbia County Man Accused Of Having Child Porn

CHATHAM, NY — A Columbia County man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly having child porn. New York State Police said Ethan R. Reck, 21, of Chatham, was charged with four counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, felonies.

Police said they responded around 12;30 a.m. Wednesday to a suspicious activity complaint in the Town of Chatham and made a traffic stop on Highland Road.

During an interview with Reck, who was the driver of the vehicle, troopers said he allegedly possessed what appeared to be child pornography.

The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene and began an investigation.

Reck was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond.

The investigation into this case is continuing. State Police urge anyone with information or knowledge of Reck and/or the case should call the BCI at 518-851-2973.
