Connecticut Man Accused Of Rape In Hudson Valley

After he turned himself in, he was sent to the county jail.

WOODBURY, NY — A Connecticut man was accused of rape in Orange County. State police said Lucas C. Xavier, 21, of Connecticut, was charged with first-degree rape, a felony.

Xavier was arrested as a result of an investigation conducted by the SP Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation over the course of several months.

The incident happened in the Town of Woodbury, police said, and Xavier was accused of "forcible sexual intercourse with an unwilling party."

He turned himself in at the Monroe barracks and was arraigned and sent to the Orange County jail on $10,000 bail of $20,000 bond.

Xavier is scheduled to appear in the Town of Woodbury Curt Aug. 2.
