Construction Worker Killed At Development Site
A retaining wall holding back dirt collapsed.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Federal OSHA investigators are trying to determine why a retaining wall collapsed Thursday, killing a construction worker and injuring another. The accident happened at the O’Neill Group-Dutton site on the Hudson River just north of the Walkway Over the Hudson.
Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson said thousands of yards of dirt had been brought in for the mixed-use development project and the retaining wall was there to hold the material in place, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
The cause of the construction worker’s death has not been determined.
