Contractor Stiffs Client, Gets Arrested: NYSP
Police said the contractor cashed three checks but didn't do the work.

CHATHAM, NY — An upstate contractor who allegedly got paid but didn't perform the work was arrested Jan. 5. State police charged Nicholas A. Scialdone, 52, of Saratoga County, with second-degree grand larceny, a felony.
An investigation found that Scialdone was hired as a contractor to perform services for a Chatham business.
Police said he cashed three checks totaling more than $90,000, but failed to do the work that was agreed upon.

Scialdone was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and released on $10,000 bail.
He is next scheduled to appear before the court Jan. 8.
