Convicted Felon Arrested With Illegal Weapons: NYSP
Troopers were initially dispatched for a report of gunfire.

CHATHAM, NY — A report of gunfire sent the state police to the Village of Chatham June 2. Eric Humbert, 47, of Chatham, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree reckless endangerment and illegal discharge of a firearm, misdemeanors.
Troopers were sent to Hudson Avenue in Chatham around 2:30 p.m. June 2 for a report of gunfire.
Police said Humbert was in his residence and was armed. He was convinced to surrender peacefully.

Humbert, who is a convicted felon, was found to be in illegal possession of a Marlin 32 Special model 336 rifle, a Marlin model 60 and a 20-gauge shotgun.
He was arraigned in the Town of Chatham Court and released on his own recognizance.
