Police said the man was trying to help two struggling children get back aboard a pontoon boat.
Police divers recovered the body of a man Monday who drowned in Greenwood Lake trying to help two children Sunday afternoon.
The body of Dovid Traube was found near the lake's north shore.

Police said witnesses told them two children jumped off a pontoon boat and became distressed. Traube, a Chestnut Ridge resident, jumped into the lake and attempted to help both children get back aboard the boat. Traube then submerged and never resurfaced.
