Cops Say Cragsmoor Man Shot at Them

He had called 911 about people trying to get in his house.

The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Cory Larson, 32, of Cragsmoor, NY for Attempted Murder of a Police officer, a Felony, Reckless Endangerment 1st, a Felony, Menacing a Police Officer, a Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, a Misdemeanor.

On May 24, 2016 State Police at Ellenville were dispatched after a 911 call about several unwanted subjects attempting to gain access into a private residence.

The caller, Cory Larson, requested police assistance to respond to his home.

Troopers were met with gunshots coming from inside the residence as they approached.

After an exchange of gunfire, Larson emerged from the residence unarmed.

Police said their further investigation at the scene found Larson to be the only occupant and there was no indication any other people were at the scene. Larson was taken into custody without further incident or injury.

Larson was arraigned before Town Justice Wayne Lonstein from the Town of Wawarsing Court and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail. Larson was ordered to return to the Town of Wawarsing Court on May 27.
